Wow what a week

Im so sorrry that this email is going to be like nothing. But I cant even explain this week in words or pictures so maybe ill try next week. Im doing good and the lord always comes through, Remember that

10 I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise
So if you need blessings just keep the commandments. Its so ffunny when people complain about all these hard things and they pray so hard for blessings when there is something we can do to get blessings. The lord has said if you do what he says he has to bless you. So if we do our part we can have faith and know that the blessings will come.

also shout out to Hermana Soe for this gem of a Quote

Strong faith develops as we support and sustain one another, we all need to go to church,
For example Logs on the fire in the fireplace if you move one log away from the fire soon the fire will go out on that isolated log while the logs on the fire will continue to burn. This is like attending church we need each other to keep the fire aflame.

Heres anothe thing if you want more help from the lord. Just go to church. Prove your faith with actions.

Love you all be good be strong and have a great week!

Perez is hard.

Well it has been a very interesting week.  We taught alot and had some great lessons. But man do the people have problems here. And we all know if they kept the comandments of God they wouldnt have as much problems but you feel kinda silly teaching hope and obedience and enduring to the end why they tell you all these situations. And you just want to help and take away all their problems but you cant. So emotionally this area has been tough.  But especially with the people struggling financially what they need is the gospel. I forgot what Apostle said this but If a person is really poor the best thing you can give them to help is a gospel of Jesus Christ because we know that money does not bring happieness and if we helped them get a job and suddenly they a rich. They still dont have what the need and the next trial that comes they are gonna hurt just as much and be just as sad. Because we know material things dont bring happiness. But Obedience to the laws of the gospel does and it brings blessings and strength. Enough to handle what ever burden you are asked to carry. So yeah I feel silly talking about Keeping the Sabbath Day Holy when someone doesnt even  have food to seat. But we know like it says in this scripture

20 There is lawirrevocably decreed in heaven before thefoundations of this world, upon which all blessings arepredicated—
21 And when we obtain any blessing from God, it is byobedience to that law upon which it is predicated.
That every blessing comes because we were obedient. So if we are struggling a little more then usual we must do are part to abtain blessings. He is waiting to bless us. We just have to but half the work it. And he will always meet us half way.
We Pray like everything depends on God. Then we work like everything depends on us.
But Other then having to Go to the office on thursday (which is a 7hr round trip) and not having Electricity for 4 days (because no one believed me and they just thought we forgot to pay our bill.) It as been an good week.  And I got to hold like 4 baby puppies this week. And man its the small things in the mission. Anyways hope everyone is doing well and earning your blessings. I miss you all! And thanks for the prayers and blessings!
Con Amor Hermana Freeze

Heres a good photo to show how fed up I was to not have electricity for 4 days and i have to do everything at night with this dang candle. It was super uncomfortable. nothing like some mood lighting with your comp.

Livin' the small town life

Well Its my first week in Perez and its been alright. I love it and hate it at the same time. It might be a long couple of months. First off Im dumb and lost my camera charger at the very begining of my mission. but lucky me the phone chargers had the same concetion so I was okay. Till I came here. And we litterly have the most getto phone you have ever seen in you life. and the the charger is ANCIENT and doesnt work with my camera... sad so thats why this week will only be photos of my old area!

First day there and I watched a big dog eat a small dog... And Cried. Then day 2 We were going good and a daughter of a prostatute was talking to us and abusing a little puppy and she thought it was funny and I was about to cry because of how wrong the situation was. THen Day 3 we went and taught at a house where someone said they were child molesters so we like had to be super careful and it was scary becuse they like invited us into the house and I was feeling super uncomfortable. Day 4 we were talking to someone why was having a hard time with her child being rebelious and were like whats going on eith him and shes like well hes got mixed up with gangs and he told me that they killd a man and he was part of it. And I was like uhhhhh what I just met you. ANd I had no Idea what to say. Then sunday we have to go to a stake conference that is 3hrs 30 min away. so we had to wwake up at 4 am and we spent more time in a buss then we did at the church. It was so hard to stay awake to. THen sunday night I listened all night long to what sounded like a cat dying. And Its been like one week. Hermana Perez is funny because she told me she has been here 6 months and nothing like this has ever happpened... and Im like Im so sorry. Cause bad things are following me here... Someone or something does not want me to be in this area. So It might be a rough change.

On the good side is my companion is great! She needs help with spanish so I teach most everything but we work really good together and we get along! Also We have alot of people really prepared for Baptism too and we have 23 investigators right now! So this should be fun if the bad things stop happening er might have alot of success together! Cool story this week is we went to visit this lady that misioneras have been visiting since sept of last year and hermana Perez was telling me like yeah she isnt progressing and I was like okay well lets go see. Went in and taught a good lession filled with the spirit and it went very well and she was really openng up and gaing a testimony of our savior. Then when we returned again this week we talked again to here and she was like I think Im ready to be baptised. ANd we were like what? ANd she told us that she has seen a million sets of missionarys but that somethiung was different. SHe said while we were teaching she felt something so powerful a peace that had great worth to her. A peace she needed that was so clear to her. ANd I was like woah. Completely took me off gaurd because I can speak perfect spanish so you think that well im usless but what Im understanding alot here is people can feel the truth in our message. I amd gain a strong testimony of the power of thr spirit when we teach. And if we can continue how we are Hermana Perez are gonna make our Branch into a Ward! Thats the area goal! SO wish us luck!

I love you all! Hope you have a great week! Look for the spirit in your life and Go to church! Never complain its too far away. because I road 3.5 hours into the mountains this week to go to church. There is no compaining and there is no exscuse.

Oh and Hermana Hayes shared this quote this week and I loved it and thought IU would share!

"LA FE is EL PODER
EL ESPIRITU es LA LLAVE
LA OBEDIENCIA es EL PRECIO
EL AMOR es EL MOTIVO
CRISTO es LA RAZON"

Faith is The Power
The Spirit is The Key
Obedience is the Price
Love is the Motive
Christ is The Reason

PURA VIDA!

First of 2 weeks ago we played with watter balloons and It was absolutly the best day ever! Cause its so hot here! WE tried to play like volloy ball or something but it became a war! haha

Then for my last Pday we played Lazzer tag! But the other missionarys invited us too late and we were already in everyday clothes so yeah I ran around in a skirt playing Lazer tag! haha It was so fun. WE played district againest district but we lost :( I blame the church clothes haha

Then my last week in Jardin we get a call from this hermana and shes like I need you to come here now. And were like whats up what do you need? and shes like I need your hands! And were like okay? so we go and she has to make 150 Pinatas by hand for KFC! ANd were like man! Okay lets get to work! SO for 2 days I made Pinatas in the whole morning! So basically if your having a birthday and dont want to buy a pinata let me know because im basically a pro. Just saying!

Then The last Week In Jardin was just saying good bye! So sad. These were some members and there Aunt was a lady we were teachining. But these little girls always showed up by them selves without there partents every sunday! They walked 30 min with there boy cousin every week because there parents had to work but they knew how important it is to go to church and learn and read your scriptures. THey were absolutly incredible little children with there hearts and minds set on christ.

This is the Jardin crew. We worked so well together Hermanas and Elders and the work was progressing so well because we served each other as well.one lesson I learned so well on the mission is If your district or your companionship isnt doing well then the work stops. If you cant get alongs with the missionaries then satan can stop the work because the spirit is gone. So it is just as important to serve our companions as the people on the street. I like to apply that to our families. We think that serving means looking beyond and doing all these amazing things but really serving in our families is the most important work we can do. We work to gether as families and If there isnt peace then no one progresses and the spirit is lost in our homes. We should start serving in our homes first. When parents and children can work together to serve one another in open comunication they can work miracles through the lord in faith and service. And when our families are strong and fortified with the spirit of love and charity together we can serve outwards. But I can tell you right now if your wanting to serve and change to be better. Start in your family first. There the ones who need it most.

Well fun fact here in Costarica you can buy like a bottled coke and they always ask you if you want it in a bag or to drink it here. And we always said here. One day I realised when they say do you want me to put it in a bag, they are talking about the liqid not like the whole coke with the bottle. So last week IWas like Hermana Lets drink coke out of a bag... so we did haha and it was absolutly bizzar, but it was a nice coke haha

More good byes this is lindas cat. ANd if you look close it wants to kill me but I love animals and they dont have a choice to love me or not haha. Im wearing a hat because we had a photo shoot in her house and its the funniest thing you have ever seen. I would send more photos but they are flat out UGLY! haha Linda is like 17 and she was like my best friend in the ward. Litterly the best YW there. I miss her lots!

Ate Pancakes at my first cooks house. She is the sweetest lady and her dog Dixie is SOOOOOO Cute. ANd she only has 3 legs but I love her and Nacy cooks the best food in Costa rica. I miss her  rich food

Also Finished the week with a cheese party and the nicest women I have ever met. WE met this family because I couldnt speak spanish and her daughter talked with me in english and we just kept in contact and this last week we met the mom. ANd she is the most precios women I have ever met. She even came to church my last sunday with a gift. A water bottle and lotion becuase she was worried in Perez I would be to hot! This is my 2nd mother in costa rica. And she doesnt have much she loves to cook and she had these gormet cheeses that she shared with us for my last week. I cant even explain how special this women is for us. It was hard to leave becuse we finally started teaching her last week. and she already was so close to us and was so smart and prepared to recive the restored gospel and then I had to leave ;(! I hope God continues to carry her to her right path in life!

Then on sunday I got to skype my favorite mom in the whole wide world! And my puppy was there!! It was a good call!

Hardest family to say good bye! This is my convert family and super Mom!! I cant even explain what they mean to me. Words arnt enough so Im not going to try. Just know they are family to me.

Last smoothie in Jardin and my last moment with Hermana SOe who I miss SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Much. And Elder Ellis also had changes so we headed off to the van right after this!

Saying good bye to my mexican hermana who always slips me Candy! And yes she slipped me candyt as I drovge off in the van!

ANd then I get to cartago and I got to se ELDER WINDERS!!!!!! Best part of the transfer! Untill I learned he was going to be in a zone with Hermana Soe again And I got sent out and away from my friends in the misson. But its cool because Perez is 3 hours from everything so we dont see anyone anyways. But yeah that was the hardest week of my life. Good byes suck :(

Transfers!

Well it finally happened. I got transfered and Im far from the city like I thought! Im here in the beautiful Perez Zeledon. Its pure feilds and small towns but I love it! My companion is Hermana Perez! She is from Las Vegas and has a few trasferes less then me in the mission but she is super awesome! Im excited to work with her but was a little bumbed that she isnt latin! But guess God wants me to still speak English or learn to be more converted to my mission language! Either way we will see. Sorry not much time this week cause of changes. to get to my area from the zone capital it is 3 hours by bus. and my zone capital is 1 hr or more from San Jose. But good news is the beach is in our area! Bad news is it is 1/2 hrs away and we dont go often cause its far. But I feel really blessed and humbled to be put here and Im so excited to meet the people! They seem more my type and my companion is just the sweeted caring hermana you will ever meet! SO I will let yall know what comes my way in Perez Zeledon! ANd get readdy to be attacked with photos next week. For those of you who have left an area, your first area in the mission, its really hard. Yes I cried. But I also had a ton of dinner and lunch invitations and gifts so hopefully I can send pictures next week with all the people that have touched my life in Barrion Jardin!

Honestly The mission is more for us then it ever will be for other people. There is no better time in your life to serve 24/7 without worldy distraction. And being a missionary alows you to see people and things in a different light, It is truly a humble blessing that I will never forget! Thank you all for your letters and Cards! They have truly helped me in time in my life and im greatful for your blessings and prayers! I hope everyone has a great week and that you truly cherished your mothers this week. but more then one day or one week all year. There is nothing more amazing then a mother and I hope you all can see and realize what she does for you! My mom is the most amazing person in my life and I am who I am becasue she is a women of strength and faith. I love you mom! Thanks for all the lessons you taught me and the example that you are for me and for those around you! Ive never met a person more willing to give of her self for others. I hope you felt very special on this day and Im sorry I couldnt be there. But I love you with all my heart and I hope you can feel just a part of my love and gratitude that I wish I could give you in our house but its coming form costa rica and its filled with more blessings! LOVE YOU MOM!

PURA VIDA!

A seriously amazing week

This week was so good and went soooo fast.  We started with divisions and i spent 2 days in viscaya where I ate the best food from el salvador. seriously AMAZING

Then we got to go to the temple with a recent convert to take out her endowments. It was seriously the most special experience. I cant even explain to you what a strong spirit was in the room and to remind me that Im here so that all can make these special covenents in la casa del señor and live with there families forever! not just for this life but for eternity.

WE ended with a service project that no one showed up to. but we helped clean the church just us and the relief society prez. so that was fun. and finished with our baptism. of Jose. Which was the most amazing day! And there was a ton of baptism this day but our president and his wife chose to come to ours. I actually cried when I saw them. THey are just the most amazing people. But therer cant be a baptism without a probem.

my fist baptism - we got robbed in the morning
second- the font over flowed-
third- we couldnt find clothes and we ran around till secounds before to find some
And this one- THE POWER GOES OUT FOR ONLY THE SECCTION THAT CONTAINS THE CHURCH. WE WERE 30min without light and we almost had to baptise him in the dark. It was aweful. Something all ways has to go wrong. then we pray like crazy and all is good. Pura VIda

Thats pretty much the week. I have 2 weeks left in Jardin and im off for a new area! Wish me luck.

Photos

When we were hiking out to the boon docks one day we came across these bulls taking water to a family that doesnt have any. It was really cool to see. They had the traditional cart and yoke.

Then We went and sung happy birthday to this cute little old lady that we visit every week. Every week we go and clean her house just to serve and help. Its really nice to see how much we can help just with the little things we do for other people! Its been an experience Ill never forget.

WE also went and taught this week and one of the families we visit gave us these beautiful skirts. that are so comfortable! And we went contacting in a different part our area that we have never been to before and it was so nice and we met a family that really needs are help. So its cool to see the blessings of the lord are over all those that have faith in him.

Then we had a suprise Baby shower for our super mom. And let me tell you Spanish sucks some times. And basically I didnt understand some things and some stuff went down, ANd long story short we showed up 1 hr 15 late with the evelyn and it was a party for her. Oh man it was embarissing. But hey just taught me a valuable lesson about asking for specifics. Confirming anf LISTNING. Actually listning to what people are saying. Not what we think they are saying.

one of the members has a daughter that is OBSESSED with Lord of the rings and the hobbit... and lets just say we get along really well. We went to her house and She had made me the stone from the hobbit as a key chain. ANd I basically died. Shes so awesome.

Then on sunday we got to go hear a fireside from the piano Guys and Jose our investagator when with us. He has the coolest story of his testimony. The live in a part that we walk by often but never visited their house. And he was in prision for a week or two and he just had a good old heart to heart with god that was like please lord just send me the truth. Send me more of your word send me the message I need. And a week before he got out we knocked on his door and started teaching his sister and her daughter. Everything was going so well and when he got out his sister was like 2 misisonaries have been visiting me. And hes like cool what church. and she was likt the church of jesus christ of latter day saints. And he goes what thats weird and didnt think anything of it. THen we taught the retoration to his sister and he happened to be there. We talked alot about the book of mormon and the need for it and the prophacies of it and that you just have to read it. and we continued to visit his sister till she got caught up in work and problems with life and wasnt willing to change to follow gods commandments and recieve those blessings. But we kept asking Jose. Have you read and prayed yet. And no was the anwser every time. and we said HERMANO You have to read it to know. and he goes yeah yeah I just dont have a desire. and I said no worries hermano can we come by and read every day with you the scriptures just to know. And so we started reading a little everyday and bam. from day one the spirit struck him so hard and he has a burning testimony of this book and it has changed his life. He is a new man and is helping his family be better as well. its been suck a blessing to watch. Because us as missionaries do absolutly nothing really. only serve and share messages about Jesus. But the message we share can change lives and I know with out a doubt how true it is. because I have see the power it holds. This is the lords work. Entonces this is Jose and he has been a miracle to watch.

Well for P day we hiked a mountain and played hide and go seek in the woods at the top.

SO FUN

MOUNTAIN

Top of the MOUNTAIn

Playing the typical Joseh smith game at the top of the mountain and cause Im week I played against a 12  year old. And good news is I won haha

Oh the way down we went through a bamboo jungle

and theres a giant tree with natural vines that we went and swung on. and guess who lets go and falls in the middle of the swing... me haha it was really funnY! Then we climbed the tree and it was HUGEEEE and finished our trek there. Seriously a great day.

Two great weeks

The first week of this change I forgot to write... and by forgot I just lost my motivation to write because that week our pday was thrusday but we wrote in the morning on monday and it was just weird and we said good by to a ton of people and it was just a hard week to write. This week was so good tho! It went by so fast. We worked on monday which was hard and then all we I was tired. Then we woke up at like 4 am thursday to go to the temple and then saturday and sunday was conference. And man was it a good week. The bblessings of god have been so good this week. ANd after having the opertunity to do a session in the temple I feel spiritualy ready to take on the next 6 months. Man the temple is so amazing and if you were listning the apostols talked about it alot and how important it is to be worthy to go and go often. I feel so blessed to be worthy to enter the house of the lord here on this earth and even more blessed for the oppertunity to hear from leaders called of god! I would like to highlight on a talk by Bonnie

Oh my gosh she just nailed everything we belive in in one talk. SHe was so clear and testified of the truth of the restored church and the fact that famlies can be together forever.

Her main quote that stuck out to me was

Do you belive it or not. WHen times get tough and trials come our way we need to ask ourself. Do you belive it or not. Do you belive that you will see you loved ones again after death because of the reserection that is given to all men. DO you belive that christ atoned for all our sins and with that we can be forgiven and we can start fresh and we can be healed. this phrase is so important and we need to ask it when as much as we can. And if we dont belive it we must go look for help in the scriptures and faily and friends where it teaches us how to gain a testimony of these things. because withought the hope from the gospel it really is a dark world.

I love you all thinks for your love and support. I hope when it comes down to it you can not only say I believe it but I know it.

Con Mucho Amor
